In anticipation of Greenroofs.com‘s spectacular 2015 Virtual Summit on April 6 through May 31 – and in order to familiarize you with the event – we are now making the Greenroofs & Walls of the World™ Virtual Summit 2013 videos publicly available on our GreenroofsTV channel on YouTube to all free of charge.
Today we have the pleasure to air “Introduction to Integrated Water Management” by Jeff Bruce, President of Jeffrey L. Bruce & Company and Chairman of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities.
Jeff will share basic technical and economic information on the design and performance of a fully integrated site and building water management system based on the “Net Zero Water” concept. Key concepts and terminology are illustrated by case studies and demonstration projects which identify issues and opportunities associated with costs and benefits, design and engineering practices, installation and maintenance requirements. This approach promises to significantly reduce the consumption of potable water in buildings, reduce discharge to municipal waste water systems, and save on municipal energy by reducing the amount of potable water treated at municipal facilities. The recognition of the connection between water management and energy conservation is emerging as a new opportunity in integrated management systems.
