Although the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is temporarily closed because of COVID-19, you have to admit their new Guitar Hotel & Casino Expansion and impressive 41 greenwalls are pretty spectacular.

Kudos to architect David Rockwell of the Rockwell Group for specifying these beautiful greenwalls and to the owners of this unrivaled gaming and entertainment destination for enlivening its many spaces with beautiful living architecture! The addition of waterfalls and changing LED light displays in many areas beautifully set off the gorgeous living architecture. Famous for its authentic music memorabilia, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood now will also be famous for its collection of living walls.

Located on 100 acres of the Hollywood Reservation of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, the world-renowned Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood recently completed a $1.5 billion expansion with its signature Guitar Hotel & Casino.

Designed by Rockwell Group for guests “to relax and recharge like rock royalty,” the first-ever, guitar-shaped Guitar Hotel is an iconic engineering masterpiece rising 450 feet into the sky. Design elements tie in the relationships between nature and the guest experience, in addition to providing softer visual backgrounds and reducing noise bounce in large spaces. A series of stunning interior and exterior greenwalls complement the expansion.

AgroSci designed and installed 41 greenwalls — including 36 multi-story systems, and dozens of interior plant installations. Guests arriving via the new grand main entrance enter into the Oculus, a sight and sound extravaganza combining elements of water, holograms, and technology in a series of floor-to-ceiling shows choreographed to music.

One of the largest accumulations of greenwalls in the world, over 6,250 sq ft of interior walls over 30 feet high are flanked by waterfalls in the main entrance and Oculus location. A 55 foot long living wall is adjacent to the Rock Spa® with smaller double walls inside.

Combined with over 2,000 sf of exterior greenwalls in the secondary main entrance and exterior pool areas, over 8,000 sf of greenwalls are flourishing, using over 28,000 individually potted plants of 14 varieties. Additional dramatic plantings are found at the Oasis Tower balconies, the Guitar Tower elevator banks and balconies, two executive penthouses with pools, and the Grand Suites.

Many of the greenwalls have compound curvatures, both sloping out as they extend down to flair outwards and side-to-side convex curves as they wrap around curved walls. Based on the Aerogation® system of micro-humidification irrigation technology, the systems are 100% automated, managed consistently 24/7.

AgroSci successfully integrated the greenwalls into a water-plant-air design concept that recreates the soothing sensations of nature and working with Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, a showcase for biophilia was created.

The winners of the flagship casino resort will be the guests and employees who will be playing and working in a healthier, cleaner and more hospitable nature-filled environment.
