Brought to Weehawken, New Jersey by Lennar, The Avenue Collection is a recent development of luxurious condominiums situated just steps away from the waterfront. This project demonstrates the developer’s eco-conscious attitude that will set the standard for one of New Jersey’s most vibrant and active development areas.

The eight-story building features three green roofs providing residents with accessible sanctuaries to be enjoyed while facing spectacular views of Manhattan with a fourth green roof designed to increase the thermal capabilities of the building’s envelope.

The third floor, main outdoor plaza, is equipped with high-end amenities for residents and guests which features an extensive lawn, individually planted terraces manicured with hedging for privacy, and a rejuvenating sun deck that features a variety of lounging furnishings, a convenience kitchen, rinsing showers and fire pits. The 7th floor features two separate green roofs which will remain private to the penthouse occupants. Nestled off on both the East and the West sides the private decks overlook bold aerial views of the 3rd floor plaza. Located on the 8th floor is an extensive green roof functioning to further encourage storm water mitigation and energy cost savings.

The third and seventh floor designs were accomplished through a built-up system utilizing intensive rooflite growing media with an approximate depth of 18″. The plant palette of the site includes 16 native species ranging from towering grasses and lush hollies to provide privacy barriers and extensive lawns and fragrant perennials to promote a calm and relaxing environment. The eighth floor is comprised of the LiveRoof modular tray system suited with various sedum mixes. The collaborative effort of all trades in this new development took 3 months to complete.

Occupancy for The Avenue Collection at Port Imperial is expected in summer 2014, with pricing from $1.1 million to $3.9 million.
