The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) is gearing up for the upcoming Building Enclosure Science & Technology (BEST6) Conference.

BEST6 takes place March 19-20, at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol in Austin, TX.

The conference theme is “The Next Generation of Building Technology,” focusing on the impact of climate change on building enclosures, new techniques in building design and construction, durability, and sustainability.

The 2024 agenda will integrate technical sessions around two tracks: building science and building practice.

Schedule highlights include:

  • Keynote Sam Rashkin, author of Housing 2.0: A Disruption.
  • Plenary session featuring Mahmoud Al-Theeb, CEO, Royal Commission in Jubail.
  • Building science sessions around decarbonization, retrofitting, household energy audit tools, cool roofs and walls, user-friendly reflective insulation, low carbon building materials, and resilience.
  • Building practice sessions around roof insulation and condensation, air barriers and ventilation, thermo-active building technology, climate-positive building enclosures, and building envelope challenges.
