Serving its members since January 25, 1888, Sheet Metal Workers? Local #36 encompasses the greater St. Louis metropolitan area, Eastern Missouri, Columbia, Jefferson City, and Springfield Missouri as well as Arkansas.

Sheet Metal Workers? Local 36 broke ground on its new $15 million, 96,000+ sf LEED Platinum headquarters facility in St. Louis on June 30, 2010. ?This new facility will help us remain on the cutting edge of technology,? said Local 36 President and Business Manager David C. Zimmermann. ?It?s our duty to maintain and improve the industry that those before us have worked so hard to build, and this project shows our commitment to that purpose.?

The new Headquarters and Training Facility for the Sheet Metal Workers Local 36 in St. Louis is going after 67 LEED NC credits with such features as photovoltaic and wind electrical generation, solar water heating, Roof rain water collection/irrigation cistern system and a Green Roof Blocks vegetative green roof system.

The 7,800 square foot green roof hosts eight species of sedums pre-grown by Jost Greenhouses of St. Louis, Missouri. The anodized aluminum modules were installed by sheet metal workers employed by Saint Louis Metalworks Company.
