Urban Future Virtual 2021
September 30 - October 1
Urban Future Virtual 2021 invites you to make a difference in your city
The largest virtual event for sustainable cities will take place on 30 September – 1 October
Nowadays, people are becoming more and more concerned with making cities sustainable, greener, and better. With the current pandemic and the climate crisis, it is not surprising that changemakers worldwide are looking for new ways to improve life in urban areas. Acknowledging the need for an event on how to drive such change, Urban Future will host Urban Future Virtual 2021 (UFv21) on 30 September and 1 October 2021.
UFv21 is claimed to be the world’s biggest virtual event for sustainable cities. This year, it will be live-streamed from 3 cities located on 3 different continents: Buenos Aires (Argentina), Lahti (Finland), Brisbane (Australia). Co-created by over 100 organisations, the event will welcome an audience of approximately 20,000 people who will get the chance to listen to more than 60 urban shapers share their stories.
A community of global changemakers
In a press release, Urban Future reports that it has grown into a global community of more than 50,000 urban change agents, leaders, and politicians. Discussing the goals of this ever-growing community, CEO and Founder of Urban Future Gerald Babel-Sutter disclosed:
“I believe that cities should learn from each other, so this is a community where we bring together people who make a change in their city. We are not selling tech or telling you what to do. We share skills, experiences, knowledge; what does and doesn’t work when driving change.”
Thus, UFv21 seeks to bring changemakers together, allowing them to share their stories and inspire others to drive change in their cities. A team of more than 100 experts have worked on the production of the virtual event, filming footage in over 20 cities around the world. Thanks to the team’s effort, Urban Future notes that the virtual format of the event will not resemble a typical webinar but rather a Netflix-style production.
Those interested in learning how to drive change and make their cities better can purchase a free ticket to live stream UFv21 via Urban Future’s website. Alternatively, they can buy a premium ticket (EUR 49) to join workshops and re-watch the event on-demand or a VIP ticket (EUR 399) to network, meet speakers, and download resources, among others.
