Position: Horticultural Maintenance Specialist

Maintenance tasks include careful conveyance of materials to sites (sometimes through finished buildings), general clean-up, pruning, weeding, planting, inspecting roof systems to monitor functionality, caring for hard-scape elements, monitoring/adjusting low-voltage lighting and irrigation systems, understanding site-specific needs, trouble shooting as required, documenting visits, and interacting on a professional level with clients.

- Driving and occasional weekend work will also be required.
- Must be able to work in a team environment as well as autonomously in all weather conditions.
- On-the-job and ongoing professional training provided.
- 1+ year prior landscaping experience (or equivalent horticultural degree), knowledge of sound horticultural practices, plant and pest ID, experience with drip-irrigation and lighting systems, valid/clean driver’s license, ability to lift and carry 50lbs. OSHA 30 a plus.
Starting rate of pay $17-22.50/hour commensurate with experience and qualifications. Professional growth within the company is a focus at New York Green Roofs.
