Come see 401 Richmond this weekend in Toronto – doors are open!

on May 27, 2011 at 2:48 pm under

If you live in the Toronto, Canada, area – or have the luck to be visiting this delightful city – you have a great opportunity to tour one of the area’s most intriguing greenroofs, not to mention one of the originals!  401 Richmond Street West is not only a unique multi-use building, but it’s a thriving community, too.  Tenants here offer a multitude of gallery openings, live performances, film festivals, artists talks, workshops, screenings, and art installations, and doors will be open at 401 Richmond Street West on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday May 29, 2011.

“The award-winning 401 Richmond Street West roof garden will be open this weekend for Doors Open. Guided tours will include a stop in the garden where visitors can learn about the history of the garden and how it’s been developed in recent years.” ~ Erin MacKeen, Director, Community Development and Communications, Urban Space Property Group

Of course, the tour is not just about the  roof gardens, as you can see from all the special events planned above.  Read all about both their Extensive Green Roof Garden and the Intensive Green Roof Garden before you go.

I hope you can make this fantastic opportunity – see the Greenroofs.com 401 Richmond project profile in The Greenroof & Greenwall Projects Database, but’s it’s certainly a far cry from seeing it yourself in person!

Happy Greening,
