How it Works
Follow these steps in order to position yourself for the best virtual experience possible.
STEP 1: Test Your System
Prior to logging into the virtual environment, you'll need to run a system test to ensure your computer has the recommended configuration to view the content inside the event. This includes bandwidth, browser, operating-system among other items such as screen resolution and cookie availability. If any of the tests fail, you will be notified gracefully with a suggestion to fix the related issue. For more detailed information, you may download our Quick Reference Guide.
STEP 2: Pre-Register for the Event
Pre-Registration for the event begins on July 20th, 2011. When you sign in on September 27, you'll complete the Registration process online and enter preference words to receive Recommended Content. Follow the steps listed in the "Registration" page.
STEP 3: Learn to Navigate in the Virtual Environment
Once logged in, you’ll find yourself in the Campus of our virtual experience. Here you’ll find access to all areas of the environment via the toolbar on the bottom of the screen: the Rare Earth Auditorium, Sky Terrace Networking & Media Lounges, Sponsor Meeting Rooms, Expo Pavilions with the Exhibitor Booths, and much more. You will need to learn to navigate in the virtual environment.
STEP 4: Connect with Content
Content Menu screens are where content is made available. Here you may access any videos, downloadable items, or URL links. Clicking on downloadable items, such as PDFs, can open them for preview or to download into your Virtual Briefcase. Videos can be viewed in the Video Player or they can be added to your Playlist to be viewed later. URL links will open up a new browser window for viewing.
STEP 5: Become Acquainted with the Social Collaboration Network (SCN)
The SCN is the central key to maximizing the virtual experience! Visit the Social Collaboration Network page in order to familiarize yourself with the many features it contains. The Social Collaboration Network is the centralized location for interacting in real time with our active user base and for downloading content from various virtual experiences.
