This project is from a research grant for green roofs from the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection.Problems / Anecdotes: The initial problem was the fact that we were using a Traffideck waterproof membrane. This is not an approved material in Florida so we had to get permission to use it based on a research claim. Another problem was that the construction was completed during fall, not the ideal time to plant, and the funding deadline was rapidly approaching. This being the case we had to plant at the end of September, a time when lots of plants in Florida are going dormant. We are still waiting for the plants to rebound, although recently they have started.
Design intent:Stormwater Management and Water QualityImprovement Design innovations:? Cistern for pollution control and irrigation of the roof ? Pollution control layer for pollutant removal ? Native vegetation ? Growth media
