The $120 million Tribeca Green apartment tower was completed in August, 2005. The Robert A.M. Stern Architects website states, “Tribeca Green is located at the northern end of Battery Park City in Manhattan, just one block south of our firm’s Tribeca Park. The 350,000-square-foot Tribeca Green contains 264 rental apartments and 55 parking spaces. The LEED?-certified Gold building is a model of sustainable architecture in keeping with the Battery Park City Authority’s aggressive program of sustainable design; the most visible green features are the mechanical penthouse clad in photovoltaic panels and the green roof on the fifteenth floor, but many other less visible strategies are also employed, including an Energy Star roof on the tower, high-performance skin, and graywater recycling.” Alsohe roof of the Tribeca Green is irrigated with harvested rain water and recycled water from the apartment?s toilets.
