|Completed in the fall of 2002, the Oaklyn Branch Library greenroof has one several awards, including the American Institute of Architects 2003 Indiana Honor Award and the 2004 Green Roofs for Healthy Cities North American Green Roofs of Excellence Award for Intensive Institutional.A Roofmeadow? Type IV: Meadow 1 greenroof was installed on the new single-level library building. It was designed as a native Mesic meadow prarie landscape and sought to irrigate with minimum evaporation and promote energy conservation while requiring little maintenance.|
|A base trickle irrigation system was employed which introduces water at the base of the green roof profile. In lieu of a roof drainage system, the roof deck pitches uniformly at three-percent towards one edge of the building.|
