The sedum being installed. The finished roof is green, purplish, & succulent!
Completed on June 26, 2004, this garage green roof was part of a Low-Impact Development demonstration project in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The green roof system is a low impact, pre-grown mat (1? thick), with eleven sedum species that are typical of most European-style green roofs. In addition to the Kamrath garage green roof, porous pavement, rain gardens, and rain barrels were installed to demonstrate options for rainwater recycling and on-site stormwater management.
Matching funds for this project were obtained from the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization.
