|The Brooklyn Heights Green Wall project began two years ago on a quaint street in Brooklyn, when the client approached Town and Gardens to create and install gardens for her charming 1800s Brownstone. The client was in the midst of a complete renovation of her house, and decided to go forward and re-create the backyard space as well as the rooftop.|
|The backyard was transformed into a beautiful space which now boasts a gorgeous 96 square foot, 16? x 6? high green wall. From the beginning, the client wanted a fresh start with the backyard, and her only request was that we preserve her Japanese Maple Tree. |
This proved to be the pivotal inspiration for the project and the design element for the green wall which emulated the shape and coloration of the natural branches. Our team also designed and built new planting beds and laid exquisite Pietra Cardosa stone that had been specially shipped in from Italy. Completed in June, 2011, the green wall became a living focal point that changes with every season providing our clients with a multi-media spectacle that could be enjoyed from both inside and out.
