“h2 was designed to have a gentle effect on the surrounding area. The “green roof” filters rainwater to reduce the impact on Healdsburg?s storm-drain system and neighboring Foss Creek; it also reduces the amount of heat the hotel gives off, to prevent disturbing the local microclimate,” (h2hotel website, see below).

Completed on June 30, 2010, the clients chose a Sempergreen pre-vegetated mat as the vegetation option for the greenroof, which is undulating with parts over a 3:12 slope. The h2hotel was awarded 2010 Hospitality Top Project in the North Bay by North Bay Business Journal on December 8, 2010.
