People's Food Co-op is a member owned food cooperative in operation since 1970. Members have always maintained a commitment to sustainable products and incorporated many green design elements into their recent expansion. These include a ground source heat pump heating / cooling system, and the use of recycled, toxic free and durable construction materials.

Completed on March 1, 2003, the People's Food Co-op features two eco-roofs, one over the front entrance, and the other over the sun-room on the south side of the building. The greenroofs were designed and built by members of Ecoroofs Everywhere. People's is located at 3029 SE 21st Ave. in Portland and the ecoroof is visible from the street and from inside during business hours.
