In 2009 Citi Field replaced Shea Stadium. The New York Mets teamed up with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to implement several environmental measures in Citi Field - the $800 million home of the New York Mets. The green roof to the administration building was a last minute addition to the brand new Citi Field Stadium for major league baseball's New York Mets. The green roof is open for viewing by the public from both a walkway and from the stadium seating.

The Green Living Roof Panels by Green Living Technologies were pre-grown on Long Island within 50 miles of the installation. The green roof was installed in less than 3 days. Since the installation was in March the Sedum were still dormant until April into May, and June offered a colorful display with no sign of modularity.
