The Wild Center at the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks is located on a 31-acre site in the Town of Tupper Lake, NY near the geographic center of the Adirondack Park. Their mission is “Ignite an enduring passion for the Adirondacks where people and nature can thrive together and set an example for the world.”

Installed in the summer of 2006, the green roof at the Natural History Museum is located on a barrel roof. Due to the 5/12 pitch, this system required slope stabilization, but no drainage layer. The other side of the roof is covered with solar panels. The 4″ extensive greenroof was established with sedum plugs.
