Completed on May 1, 2005, this 440 square foot garage greenroof blends into the backyard landscape of the home, providing a lovely view from the upstairs balcony. Since most storm water in D.C. is generated from residential properties, this greenroof is a great example of small-scale, residential greenroofing.

This greenroof was multiply-sourced to save on cost. Because the site was so tight and had no vehicle access, it was built with a block and tackle and hand hauling. The plants were planted in arching bands to match the landscape architecture plan at grade level.
