The new 45,000 square foot addition to the Winn Army Community Hospital expands medical services for Active Duty Military and their families at Fort Stewart, GA. An 8,800 SF extensive green roof will help the new facility achieve LEED Silver status.
A lightweight modular system (LiveRoof) was chosen by the architect, Leo A Daly, to give an instant green roof and reduce structural loads. James Greenroofs supplied the pre-grown modules planted with 10 species. The green roof is visible from 2nd floor offices and the adjacent hospital wing.
The Fort Stewart – Winn Army Community Hospital green roof has a roof slope of 1/4″ per 12″ and was completed on September 1, 2014.
