November 8, 2021 Botanica Residences Awards on Fytogreen Australia.
Fytogreen Australia was proud to design and install three stunning vertical gardens on Botanica Residences, a development by ARIA Property Group, home to Queensland’s largest vertical garden. Botanica Residences is the largest multi-unit residential project to be awarded Enviro-Development accreditation from the UDIA (Urban Development Institute of Australia), having achieved the full 6 leaf certification and incorporates Queensland’s largest residential green wall and solar panels to combine on-trend design with sustainable initiatives.
The 20-LEVEL Brisbane apartment project combines an abundance of retail and entertainment opportunities with the convenience of an inner city location. Positioned on the corner of Edmondstone and Boundary St, Botanica Residences is adjacent to Coles Supermarket, the West End Marketplace, and is located in the midst of the thriving West End village precinct.
Aria Property Developers are strong believers in delivering the highest quality amenity for residents and the finishes and attention to detail within the Botanica Residences are unparalleled. Botanica has recently been named the country’s best development project, winning the UDIA National Awards for Excellence.
Botanica Apartments boasts an impressive street frontage that can be viewed from quite a distance, combining two individual green walls on the front elevation of the building. Completed in September 2015, the first vertical garden screens the car park façade, starting at 4m above the driveway entrance, ascending to 20m above the street level.
The second outdoor greenwall is located on the west end of the south facing street front, which frames the whole building creating a lush tropical appearance.
Upon entering the apartment complex, you discover the third indoor vertical garden which gives yet another ‘wow factor’ to the entrance foyer. The green vegetation compliments the interior design and provides numerous health benefits to the buildings occupants.
All three green walls were designed by Eric Van Zuilekom, Fytogreen’s inhouse botanist. Created with 54 different plant species, the sub tropical palette includes a total of 9,650 individual plants. Fytogreen’s plant selection is matched to the host walls’ growing environment, creating a successful, ecologically sustainable vertical garden. Fytogreen’s aim with every garden they design is to ensure all the plants used thrive in the growing conditions for their natural life spans.
Fytogreen also incorporates a maintenance program for the green wall, which includes monthly visits to the site and remote daily monitoring via the company’s computer system, ensuring that the gardens irrigation system is operating correctly everyday.
Botanica Residences sets a benchmark for urban renewal.
