The NAU, website (see below)states, “Northern Arizona University has gone LEED platinum with a new 60,000-square-foot research building. A photovoltaic array generates up to 20 percent of its power. Other green features include low-toxic materials, local wood, and a vegetated roof. Recycled water will be used to flush the toilets. The building cost $26-million, only about 10 percent more than standard construction.” The building was awarded the 2007 Excellence in Structural Engineering Award from the Structural Engineers Association of Arizona.
