The Role of Technology in Urban Agriculture – Webinar

FAO and EBRD invites you to the E-dialogue “The Role of Technology in Urban Agriculture”

We invite you to join the third interactive e-dialogue of a nine-part series: “The Role of Technology in Urban Farming”, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations (FAO) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as part of the ongoing FAO-EBRD technical package to support the agribusiness sector.

With more than 230 participants of the first two e-dialogues, representing key players in all relevant urban farming fields, we would like to continue the global discussion, this time on the main opportunities and challenges of the technological transformation of urban and peri-urban agriculture.

Professor Leo Marcelis from Wageningen University & Research will moderate the interactive discussion of participants from all over the world and speakers, high academic representatives and small, medium and large urban farming companies including AeroFarms, LocalGreen and Fluence Bioengineering, on the following topics:

  • Importance of technology in the business and how it shaped current urban agriculture settings
  • Financial and Human cost of applying technology
  • The role of banks and investors in the process
  • What will the future bring?
