Year-End 2016: rooflite® continues growth, expands regional coverage, improves product specifications, and launches new web site
Landenberg, PA. - (January 26, 2017) – Skyland USA today announced that 2016 was another year of growth for rooflite®, its green roof media brand, with a focus on both expanding regional coverage across the Americas, improving product specifications, and launching a new web site with expanded and improved information for the industry.
Since its founding in 2005, one of the hallmarks of rooflite’s offering has been its regional blender network, which allows rooflite to offer its high-quality products throughout the Americas. In 2016, rooflite added two new blenders to its network: Missouri Organic Recycling in the Kansas City area and Plántica in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Partnering with well-established businesses as blenders is a critical goal each year for the company. “We have the best green roof media products available, but without our blender partnerships, we couldn’t meet the always increasing demand in North America for our products,” said Joe DiNorscia, President of Skyland USA. “We are happy to bring on respected businesses in key areas where we are seeing industry growth.”
With its high-quality products at the core of its business, Skyland USA used 2016 to revamp its product specifications to be more useful for industry professionals. In September, the company began offering specifications by region and by weight class for download.
This change allows industry professionals to get product information specific to both their region and their project requirements for weight. This new offering came from a desire to “provide all our detailed product information right through the web site and to make it as easy as possible for potential clients to specify our products,” said DiNorscia.
In September 2016, rooflite also launched a new web site. It features new and improved features for green roof industry professionals, including a revamped calculator, enhanced specification downloads, and a host of new information on the product line and the company. As the premier provider of green roof media in the U.S., rooflite embarked on this new and improved web site as a way of creating a one-stop virtual location for landscape architects, green roof installers, and other industry professionals that need quick and easy access to rooflite product information.
“As our business has grown in the past few years, we knew it was time to create a new web platform for rooflite with a goal of streamlining our product information and making it easy for people to find the information they need,” said DiNorscia. “We focused on creating a great looking and usable web site that can help people making green roof media decisions in a variety of areas, including planning, estimating and shipping.”
With 2016 bringing a number of enhancements, rooflite is primed to focus on increasing sales and further refining their product line to meet growing demand in 2017. “2016 was an important year for us as we made improvements to our regional network, product specifications and our web site,” said DiNorscia. “While we had impressive year-over-year growth from 2015 to 2016, we are excited to see what 2017 will bring with these improvements in place.”
