Roofmeadow Registers as a Benefit Corporation
Philadelphia, PA. – (January 23, 2013) – Roofmeadow joins the ranks of a select group of fifteen forward-thinking companies by registering as one of Pennsylvania’s first Benefit Corporations. Melissa Muroff, Roofmeadow VP, attended the filing ceremony and press event on Independence Mall. The event acknowledged the leaders who have chosen to increase the breadth of their companies by altering the corporate structure under which they operate.
Pennsylvania is one of twelve states that have adopted legislation making it possible for companies to register as a Benefit Corporation. Benefit Corporations are required by law to create benefit for employees, community, environment and society in general as well as their shareholders.
“Since 1997, Roofmeadow has been committed to introducing inspiring, interactive green spaces and artful stormwater management into heavily built-up sites. We are so pleased to be able to choose a corporate structure that comports with our own long-held goals.” Melissa Muroff, Esq., Vice President.
