The Indian Green Infrastructure Network Invites You to Bangalore in November!

Founder of the Indian Green Infrastructure Network (IGIN)
The Indian Green Infrastructure Network (IGIN), an NGO set up in association with the World Green Infrastructure Network (WGIN), invites you to participate in one of India’s biggest ever events: The INTERNATIONAL GREEN CONFERENCE to be held at the Sheraton Bengaluru (Bangalore), India, from the 26th to 28th November, 2012.
The conference, with the theme of RE-THINK SUSTAINABILITY, aims to bring together the decision makers and implementers to develop green sustainable cities in India.
The theme aims to encourage public, professionals, and government officials to proactively use the available green technology to meet the present demand of development without compromising on the ability of future generations to meet their demands.
The conference would focus on the application of knowledge for the practical purposes like evolving methods, materials, and techniques that would help buildings and other infrastructure facilities in urban areas become more energy and resource efficient.

Prof. Dr. Manfred Koehler - President WGIN
Dr. Manfred Koehler has been a Professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Neubrandenburg, teaching Landscape Ecology and working on Green Roof Technology. He is a member of the German Institute of Landscape Architects (BDLA) and the German Landscape Research, Development and Construction Institute, and is one of the founders of the World Green Infrastructure
Dr. Patrick Blanc - Modern Innovator of the Green Wall
Dr. Patrick Blanc is the inventor of the vertical greenery concept; Patrick is a botanist working at the French National Centre for Scientific Research, where he specialises in plants from subtropical forests.
Mr. Andrew Grant - Director - Grant Associates (Bay project at Marina South in Singapore)
Andrew Grant has been involved in all scales of development from strategic planning of new
towns and green infrastructure strategies through to the design of particular landscape
spaces or components. He led the design team on the recently opened Gardens by the Bay
Project at Marina South in Singapore.
Dr. Jaron Lubin - Principal, Safdie Architects
Dr. Jaron Lubin has led several key projects alongside Moshe Safdie, including a recent proposal for the National Art Museum of China in Beijing. He is currently the project designer of Sky Habitat, a new high-density condominium complex in the center of Singapore which explores the prospect of garden-living within dense high-rise structures. Previously, he was a member of the competition-winning design team for the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort.
Mr. Florian Stefan Betzler - Green Building Architect & Planner “PLANUNGSTEAM BETZLER”
Florian Stefan Betzler has delivered structural calculations and new construction techniques, landscape design, heating, plumbing, electrical engineering and interior design. Florian has developed the architectural design that fights the City Heat Island Problem.
Ms. Dorthe Romo - Biologist and Public Administrator for the City of Copenhagen
Dorthe Romo is a Biologist and has in the last 5 years been working with Green Roofs in the Public Administration for the City of Copenhagen. She has been a Project Manager on Copenhagen's Wastewater Plan 2008 and has for the last 7 years been responsible for
Maintenance and operation of the freshwater system in Copenhagen.
Mr. Martin Dubbeling - Consultant, Urban Planner, Urban Designer, Author
Martin Dubbeling is Chair of the BNSP+NVTL Working Group on Sustainable Urban Design,
Vice President of the Netherlands Professional Organisation of Urban Planning and Design
(BNSP) and Vice President Urban Planning Advisory Teams (UPATs) of the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP). For ISOCARP Martin Dubbeling is Responsible for UPAT workshops in Singapore (2010), Wuhan (2012) en two in Perm (2012).

Linda Velazquez is also Principal of Sky Gardens Design (2004), a green roof design and consulting firm that facilitates the design of exciting, aesthetically pleasing, and economically viable green roofs and greenwalls, offering both high level consulting services and site specific design and research.
Dr. Dhiru Thadani - Architect, Urbanist, Author, and Editor
Dr. Dhiru Thadani, AIA is an Architect and Urbanist who has been in practice since 1980, and has worked in Asia, Europe, North and Central America. He has been involved in the design of new developments, urban retrofits, neighbourhood revitalisation, and infill densification. He is the recipient of the 2011 Seaside Prize, an award given for significant contributions to the quality and character of communities.
Mr. Dan Slone - Partner, McGuireWoods LLP
Over the last decade Dan Slone has represented numerous national and international nonprofits such as the USGBC, the Congress for the New Urbanism and the World Green Building Council. He assists owners of large tracts with the monetisation of environmental services, and helps develop innovative infill, Greenfield and retrofit projects by drafting new codes, obtaining land use and environmental entitlements, drafting governance documents and Negotiating public / private partnership arrangements.
Mr. Doug Farr - Founding Principal Farr Associates, Founding Chairman of USGBC LEED for Neighbourhood Development Rating System, Designer Beijing's Olympic Village,
Doug Farr is the founding chairman of the U. S. Green Building Council's LEED for Neighbourhood Development rating system a first ever standard for sustainable land development. His body of international design work includes Beijing's Olympic Village, an eco-resort in Nigeria, and consulting for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation on eco-city development in southwest Asia.
Mr. Mohan Rao - Principal, Integrated Design
Mohan Rao is an Environmental Designer with focus on sustainable systems, low impact development & green infrastructure and is actively researching aspects of ecological design specifically focused on the intersection of natural resources, ecological processes and development. His past engagements include geographies as diverse as North Africa, Europe and China. He is the recipient of national and international awards instituted by professional peer groups. Mohan is associated with several academic and research organizations as senior advisor including the Indian Institute of Human Settlements, The Ecological Sequestration Trust and Sattva Trust, amongst others.

Michael Teh from Nature Landscapes Pte Ltd made his mark with landscape projects on the grounds of top hotels like Raffles and Four Seasons, and Changi International Airport. Michael is the former chairman of LIAS, whose mission is to develop and promote professionalism and quality in landscape products and services to fulfill Singapore's vision of being a City in a Garden.
